Translation project manager (in-house remote)
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a degree-level educated language lover to join our team as translation project manager. Working as part of a team of professional linguists and project managers, you will be responsible for organising translation and localisation projects from beginning to end, developing and optimising processes to suit our clients’ needs, and recruiting freelance linguists to continually increase our talent pool. This role would be suitable for a graduate of modern languages, translation studies, management, business administration or a related discipline with one or two years’ experience working in a translation company.

- At least one to two years’ experience working as a translation project manager
- UK-based with the ability to work remotely (please not are not visa sponsors so applicants need to have the right work and remain in the UK)

What kind of work is it?
Working as a translation project manager is a very varied role. You will provide holiday and sickness cover for the project management team and will be responsible for organising and monitoring translation projects. You will process orders from clients, analyse and prepare files for translation, allocate translations to linguists, carry out quality checks, and deliver the files back to the client. You will also be responsible for regularly recruiting, evaluating and onboarding new freelance translators, including for our award-winning Graduate Junior Translator scheme. You will use a variety of cloud-based tools to organise projects, communicate with your team and process files for translation.

Project management is a multi-faceted role that often involves working on several projects at the same time. Good organisational skills, a talent for multitasking and the ability to work under pressure are essential for this role.
A big part of being a project manager is to communicate effectively with your team of linguists, your colleagues and your clients. Our ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and is comfortable speaking to colleagues and customers on the phone, by email and via online messaging tools. Speaking another language would be a bonus, but is not essential for this role.
Experience in translation project management, knowledge about translation workflows and quality assurance as well as basic CAT tool skills are essential for this role. Experience in recruiting freelance translators would be a bonus.
Other personal qualities we appreciate include a positive attitude towards work, the ability to adapt quickly, and a general thirst to learn new things.
