We loved working alongside two London production companies, First Person Films and Blindeye Films, to translate some very exciting audiovisual content for the high-profile Backed by Messi campaign.
The campaign was made up of a series of online videos which showed young rising football stars being endorsed by football legend Lionel Messi and receiving a pair of his Messi15 Adidas boots.
The videos comprise interviews with Messi himself as well as some self-made video-phone clips that were filmed the selected ten rising international stars, such as Russia’s Aleksey Miranchuk, Italy’s Accursio Bentivegna, and France’s Jeremie Boga, as they receive and try out their new Messi boots and discuss them animatedly in their native language.
What we did
Our role in this project was two-fold. First and foremost, we helped with some backstage preparations before the stars’ individual filming began, translating filming instructions and shotlists into Russian, Italian, German, French and Brazilian Portuguese to help them create their videos.
Once the sports stars had recorded their content in their various native languages, we then worked with the production companies in the post-production stage. Our team of translators provided timecoded transcriptions of the audio in the stars’ respective languages, which were then used to translate all content into English to be made into subtitles for the English-speaking world to enjoy.
It’s safe to say that this has been a very exciting process for everyone involved. Our in-house team dealt extremely well with the different stages of the project and the inevitable quick turnarounds such campaigns demand. We all very much enjoyed seeing the final result online!
